Partners & Friends Shalom,
As 2025 draws to a close, we wanted to look back on months that have challenged all of us — personally, socially, and nationally. Mental-health services in Israel, already strained after years of underfunding, continue to struggle under the weight of growing needs. Women face deepening socio-economic hardship, alongside an erosion of personal safety and basic rights. And the long, painful war has left a profound emotional imprint on our hearts and Israeli society.
One in five adult Israelis is coping with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic symptoms, or significant difficulty in daily functioning. Yet, since October 7th ONLY an additional 1% of Israelis have found care within the public mental-health system. These realities underscore the importance of the Women’s Counseling Center’s work.
We want to share with you a glimpse of our efforts over the past year — efforts shaped by resilience, learning, and a deep commitment to women’s emotional well-being.
The Counseling Center for Women (CCW) continues to serve as a professional and compassionate home for women seeking meaningful therapeutic support. We provide high-quality psychotherapy rooted in feminist, trauma-informed, and gender-sensitive practice, accessible through a sliding-scale fee structure that ensures care is within reach for women from all communities in Israel.
CCW is a hub for professional training. Students, interns, and practitioners join us for rigorous, thoughtfully designed clinical education. Many begin their training during their master’s program and choose to remain with us for one or two additional years, deepening their practice through supervision, clinical seminars, and hands-on experience. This investment in training strengthens the next generation of feminist therapists and ensures continuity of high-quality care.
Through our Training Center, our psychotherapists provide workshops and supervision to a wide range of professional teams — from domestic-violence treatment centers to programs supporting young women finding their way out of prostitution, and staff in organizations assisting women nationwide. These collaborations expand our impact and strengthen the broader network of support available to women.
In recent months, our therapists completed intensive training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based method proven effective for trauma and anxiety. The ability to integrate EMDR into our clinical work has become especially meaningful during this turbulent period, offering women new pathways for relief and healing.
Alongside the clinical work, we have devoted time to organizational reflection and conversation: re-examining our mission as a feminist therapeutic and social organization, redefining priorities, and listening closely to the evolving needs of women in Israel today. These dialogues are strengthening our shared purpose and guiding our next steps.
As we enter a new year, we wish for gentler days, renewed strength, and more light — for each of you, for the women we serve, and for Israeli society as a whole.
We look forward to continuing this important work together, with gratitude for your partnership and trust.
With warm appreciation,
The Counseling Center for Women’s Team
